Tomorrow will be an early start for your first Tanzania safari trip, so take advantage of your first day to rest up after a long day of travel and absorb in the sights and sounds of Africa.
Today you’ll go to Tanzania’s first national park, the stunning Lake Manyara. Expect to see elephant herds leisurely moving over the plains, large bands of baboons in the dense forest canopy, and – if you’re lucky! – tree-climbing lions.
Buffalos, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and plenty of pink flamingos can be spotted in the vicinity of the massive soda lake. The small Hippo Pool is often a highlight, providing exceptional hippo sightings as well as breathtaking vistas of the Rift i9Valley Escarpment.

Today, you’ll continue your African safari adventure to one of the country’s most popular destinations: the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti’s boundless expanses and richness of species are unparalleled. The Wildebeest Migration, which attracts over a million wildebeest, is perhaps the Serengeti’s highlight. It’s an incredible sight to see millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles thunder through the Serengeti’s boundless grasslands.
You and your individual guide will search for the animals over the plains. Aside from the migratory species, you will also encounter lions, cheetahs, leopards, and other wildlife.

The massive caldera below will be seen as soon as you reach the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater – a breathtaking sight. After leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will travel to Karatu in the Ngorongoro highlands. You will take part in a stroll through the coffee plantation to learn more about coffee cultivation and processing. You will spend the night in one of three stunning Lodges.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Get up and shine! After breakfast, you return to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before driving down into the crater. The large collapsed volcano is home to approximately 25,000 creatures, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard) as well as spotted hyenas, rare wild canines, and some of the area’s more than 500 bird species. Following an extended game drive and a picnic lunch, you will depart the caldera in the afternoon and return to your for dinner and overnight.
